Finance Committee

Oversees the school's financial health by reviewing budgets, financial reports, projections, and other financial matters. Works with school leadership to ensure resources are used responsibly and support Sun Grove's long-term sustainability.

Board members only

Governance Committee

Helps ensure the Board operates effectively, responsibly, and in alignment with Sun Grove's bylaws, policies, and governance practices. Reviews Board policies and procedures, supports Board member orientation and development, and helps clarify roles and responsibilities.

Great for someone who… Enjoys structure, policies, problem-solving, and making sure everyone understands how things are supposed to work. A good fit for someone who notices gaps, asks thoughtful questions, and likes turning “We should probably have a process for that” into an actual process.

Nominating Committee

Helps build a strong, well-rounded Board by identifying, recruiting, and getting to know potential Board members. Considers the skills, experiences, and perspectives the Board needs now and in the future.

Great for someone who… Loves connecting people, knows lots of people in the community, is a good judge of strength and personalities, or enjoys helping find the right person for the right role.

Long-Range Planning Committee

Looks beyond the day-to-day at Sun Grove's future direction. Explores long-term goals, opportunities, challenges, growth, and the resources the school will need to thrive in the years ahead. Oversees campus-wide surveys, helps identify trends and priorities from community feedback, and leads the development and ongoing review of Sun Grove's Strategic Plan.

Great for someone who… A big-picture thinker who loves brainstorming possibilities, enjoys research, data, or problem-solving, or naturally asks, “Where do we want to be three or five years from now – and how do we get there?”

Development Committee

Focuses on building relationships and resources that can support Sun Grove for years to come. Explores grants, community partnerships, sponsorships, major gifts, and other long-term funding opportunities. Helps strengthen Sun Grove's broader network by developing relationships with alumni and former families, including creating and growing an alumni network.

Great for someone who… Enjoys networking, grant research or writing, building relationships with businesses and community organizations, reconnecting people to Sun Grove, or finding opportunities and thinking, “We should know these people.”

Fundraising Committee

Turns ideas into fundraising activities that directly support Sun Grove. Helps plan and carry out campaigns, events, sponsorships, and other creative ways for the school community to raise money.

Great for someone who… Enjoys planning events, coming up with fun ideas, asking local businesses to participate, promoting a cause, organizing volunteers, or turning “Wouldn't it be fun if…” into an actual event.

Engagement Committee

Helps strengthen the connection between Sun Grove families, staff, the Board, and the greater school community. Creates opportunities for families to participate, volunteer, meet one another, and feel connected to life at Sun Grove.

Great for someone who… Loves bringing people together, welcoming new families, communicating, planning community activities, connecting volunteers with opportunities, or simply helping people feel like they belong.

Physical Plant Committee

Focuses on Sun Grove's buildings, grounds, and physical campus. Helps identify facility needs, prioritizes improvements, coordinates projects, and finds practical ways to keep the school safe, functional, and welcoming.

Great for someone who… Likes fixing things, tackling hands-on projects, gardening or landscaping, organizing workdays, getting quotes, or looking at a space and immediately thinking, “I know how we could make this better.”
